Bradley Kent set to make VW Racing Cup debut

Having spent previous seasons competing in a variety of race series, Bradley Kent will step up to the Maximum Motorsport Volkswagen Racing Cup this year, driving an Essex and Kent Motorsport run VW Scirroco. 18-year old Bradley will join teammate and older brother Lewis who will – for the third season in succession – contest the TCR-UK series that runs on the same bill as the VW championship.

Over the past four months, Bradley’s car has been stripped and rebuilt in preparation for the seven-event, 14-race season ahead and whilst he knows it’s going to be a new experience in the VW Racing Cup, he is looking forward to the challenge:

“With the Scirocco putting out 280bhp, it’s going to be a different world from the one I’ve been used to, having raced in the BRSCC Junior and Senior Fiesta ST Championships in 2017 and 2018 and then last year in a rear-wheel drive Mazda MX5 in the Super Series. The car has been completely stripped to make sure we’re happy with everything, so I feel confident I’ll be in a position to compete with the more experienced VW Cup drivers.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a race-car. With the help from the team and my brother, I’m hoping for a successful season with the view of moving on to a TCR campaign in a Hyundai i30N in 2021.”
