Olly Turner signs with JM-Racing for 2021 VW Cup Campaign

Former Fiesta Junior Champion and Fiesta Senior front-runner Olly Turner has joined JM-Racing for a full season in the 2021 Maximum Networks Volkswagen Racing Cup.

Olly, aged 18 from Evesham, will be behind the wheel of one of the team’s newly-built MK7 Golfs, with Mark Coggan and Josh Wakefield from JM-Racing confident Olly will show great pace in his first season in the VW Championship:

We have been watching Olly for a couple of years now and have seen his potential, so when the opportunity came to sign him up it was a no-brainer! We were looking for a young driver who has the ability to win the championship and we feel have this with Olly.”

Having looked at the options open to him for this year, Olly said: “The move to JM-Racing and the VW Cup looked the best way to go after racing in the Fiestas for the last four seasons. Having won the Junior Championship in 2019 and 2020 and then finishing 3rd in the Senior Championship, I feel it’s time to move forward and prove myself at another level, so I’m really excited to make the step into something new.

“I believe JM-Racing will give me the best opportunity to win. I’m eager to put the time and effort in so I can deliver the results we are all looking for. My sponsor Samco are coming on the journey with me to the Volkswagen Racing Cup, so I’m delighted we’ll be able to build on our partnership from previous years”.

Whilst Olly is the only driver confirmed with JM-Racing so far, the team is intending to run up to three cars this season and therefore, is looking to secure deals with two more drivers during the next few weeks.
